Do you know hope is the engine that brings faith to reality? Have you ever planted a seed and it grows to become a plant that blossoms into something beautiful?

The Oxford Dictionary defines hope as a reason to believe that something good may happen. Each one of us goes to bed at night with the hope that we will wake up in the morning, able to do all the things that we did the previous day and sometimes we don’t give much thought to this when we go to bed and wake up in the morning.

This month I want to put the spotlight on hope. As a Christian, hope and faith are very much intertwined, You cannot have one with out the other. I plant a seed and I have faith that it will grow and hope it will blossom and produce fruit. In my view faith is dealing with the now and hope is dealing with the will be. In the bible in Hebrews 11:1 it says Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (NIV New International Version)

I like the way the Amplified Bible puts it, Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]

.

Faith is the confirmation or assurance that it will become reality whilst Hope is the engine that keeps us going to see those things become reality., this is the way I understand.

Back in December 2020, I had faith that God was with me even though I cannot see him with my physical eyes but hope gets me through the trauma, that my capacity to handle the pain will get bigger and I will be able to step forward.

I love planting seeds and watching the seeds become little plants that later produces flowers. I get excited when I see the seeds germinate and sometimes, if I am watching closely, I can see the little roots going deep into the soil before the plant starts growing upwards and sometimes I see the seed at the top of the plant. The deeper the root goes down the stronger and taller the plants become until the outer part of the seed drops off.

Everyone needs to have hope because hope is the engine that brings faith to reality; hope for tomorrow, hope for something better, hope for yourself, hope for others, hope for your family to name a few. If you don’t have hope there is a tendency for depression to set in, which can lead to mental health issues.

I want to encourage you to have hope, hope that tomorrow will be better than today, your current situation will not stay the same forever. It will change. It will get better.

You will look back in a month or a year from now and you will see that you are in a better place than you were before.

When I sow a seed and I see this little plant, sometimes the plant looks so feeble and weak exactly how I feel sometimes and I wonder if it will live or if it will die. I will give it a lot of care and sometimes my family will look at it and say that plant will not survive but I refuse to give up and I will continue to care for it. As I care for it, it gets stronger and becomes this healthy strong plant.

When I face a difficult situation and I am wondering if it will improve, God always remind me of the plants which were weak and I nurtured them and they became strong and healthy.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, I started writing about hope three months ago but did not finish it and wrote the other blogs I published and this month I was about to write something else but I felt it really strong in my spirit that I needed to complete this and publish it.

There might be one person out there who needs to hear this. Don’t lose hope, stay focus, don’t give up, God is with you and he will change things for you.
